US: Wall St opens lower as Powell-led momentum cools

[NEW YORK] Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Monday (Aug 25), retreating from the previous session’s gains when fed chair Jerome Powell hinted that an interest-rate cut could be on the table at the central bank’s meeting next month.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 26.5 points, or 0.06 per cent, at the open to 45,605.25.
The S&P 500 fell 9.2 points, or 0.14 per cent, at the open to 6,457.67, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 30.1 points, or 0.14 per cent, to 21,466.466 at the opening bell. REUTERS
