Cordlife gets extended deadline to submit representations for potential one-year suspension
MOH grants the company an extension of time from Oct 13 to Oct 27 to submit the representations
[SINGAPORE] Cordlife announced that the Ministry of Health (MOH) has extended its deadline for submitting representations with respect to its potential one-year suspension to Oct 27, from the initial deadline on Monday (Oct 13).
It received a notice of intent from the MOH for a one-year suspension of its cord blood banking services after some operational lapses came to light. The private cord blood bank was given 14 days from the date of the notice, or until Oct 13, to submit the representations.
Cordlife said on Monday that it made an application to MOH on Oct 6 for an extension for the submission of its written representations.
On Oct 12, the ministry informed Cordlife that it had been granted an extension of time, from Oct 13 to Oct 27, to submit the written representations to the director-general.
Cordlife added that it has stopped the collection, testing, processing and storage of new cord blood units, in line with the notice.
The counter closed Friday flat at S$0.174.
