DBS shares rally to a new record as the STI clocks yet another high
[SINGAPORE] DBS shares hit a new high on Friday morning (Jul 18), bringing the Straits Times Index (STI) to a fifth consecutive record this week in intraday trade.
As at 9.04 am on Friday, DBS hit S$47.05, with 620,800 shares having changed hands. By 10 am it had eased back down to S$46.95 with some 1 million shares transacted.
The Straits Times Index rose to 4,180.95 points, extending its winning streak. On Thursday, it had reached a high for a fourth consecutive trading day, hitting an intraday peak of 4,163.45 before closing at 4,161.43.
With a market capitalisation of 132.7 billion, DBS is the largest constituent of the STI. Year to date, the lender has gained more than 6 per cent since the start of the year.
