Both franchises have had varying degrees of success in the last 10 years, but the Eagles more recently won a Super Bowl in the 2017 season, whereas the Giants have not won one since 2011.

Still, both teams are constantly going at one another, and Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni knows all about dealing with fans who can be a bit abrasive. New York and Philadelphia are not too far from one another, and it stands to reason fans of both teams live in both areas.

Sirianni spoke to reporters about dealing with Giants fans who appear in the Philadelphia area, and the lengths they can sometimes go to take a shot at him.

NFL analyst Ari Meirov posted the video on his X page, which showcases Sirianni detailing the types of harassment he often receives from Giants fans. According to Sirianni, “You know sometimes you see Giants fans around here being so close. And you know they give me a good, like, ‘Hey, go Giants!’ I typically let it go, but if the guy gets me good enough I usually say, ‘You know, we got your best player.”

Sirianni definitely has the ultimate insult to throw back at Giants fans who decide to go after him. The Eagles were able to secure one of the biggest free agents this offseason, running back Saquon Barkley.

Barkley spent each of the first six seasons of his career with the Giants, before signing a three-year deal with the Eagles in March. Giants fans were decidedly upset about the switch, especially since their star running back went to one of their most hated rivals.

Barkley secured 962 rushing yards and six touchdowns on top of 280 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. Though it was a down year in terms of his overall rushing yards, Barkley is still at the height of his career.

He has now joined an offense that includes quarterback Jalen Hurts, and wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. With Barkley leading the rushing attack, the Eagles could be hard to stop in 2024.

Giants fans wanting to take shots at Sirianni might want to rethink their strategy, especially now that their presumed favorite player is playing for the enemy.
