Hospital: 12 dead in Israeli strike on house in northern Gaza

At least 12 people were killed in an Israeli bombardment of a house in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip overnight, according to a local hospital.

Kamal Adwan Hospital said that women and children were among the victims.

At least 10 more people are buried under the rubble of the house, the hospital said.

The information could not be verified, but residents told dpa that they were woken by a huge explosion during the night.

Israel’s military has not yet commented on the incident.

Eyewitnesses have described humanitarian conditions in Jabalia as catastrophic.

The Israeli military launched a new offensive against the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in the area in October, as it said militants were trying to regroup.
