Rangers GM Has Glowing Comment After Meeting With Roki Sasaki
Texas Rangers general manager Chris Young told reporters Monday that his team met with Roki Sasaki, bringing the number of teams confirmed to have met with the free agent pitcher to five.
“We really enjoyed our time, but that’s about the extent of anything I will say on that today,” Young said, via MLB.com’s Kennedi Landry.

The New York Mets, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs were all reported to have met with Sasaki and his representatives last week in Southern California.

The Philadelphia Phillies confirmed via president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski that they reached out to Sasaki’s representatives but did not meet with him in person.
Last season, Sasaki went 10-5 with a 2.35 ERA in 18 starts for the Chiba Lotte Marines, with 129 strikeouts in 111 innings. He wowed fans and industry observers at the 2023 World Baseball Classic, when his fastball sat 100 mph and Japan stunned the United States to win the championship.
